Point to a website or server (A record)
If your hosting gives you an IPv4 address, add an A record.

The @ name means yourname.dotin.site itself. Make sure your hosting is also configured to accept this domain name.
Point to a hosting or website service (CNAME)
Many services give you a hostname instead of an IP address. Use a CNAME record and paste the hostname they provide.

A CNAME cannot share the same name with another record. If you need other records on the same name, use an A record instead.
Set up email for your subdomain
Your email provider will give you the exact records. They usually include MX records, an SPF TXT record, and DKIM/DMARC TXT records.

Enter the MX priority in the Priority field and the server name in Value.
Verify domain ownership (TXT record)
Services such as search engines and email providers ask you to add a TXT record containing a code. Add it with Name @ and paste the code as the Value.
IPv6 (AAAA record)
If your server has an IPv6 address, add an AAAA record the same way as an A record.
How long do DNS changes take?
Changes are sent to our DNS provider immediately and usually appear within minutes. Some networks cache older answers for longer. Use Check DNS status on your subdomain page to see whether each record is live.
Tips
- Use Auto TTL unless a service tells you otherwise.
- Do not add private IP addresses such as 192.168.x.x. They cannot be reached from the internet.
- Keep verification TXT records in place until the service confirms them.
